Okay, for those of you just starting to view this, I have actually been making a big effort as of late to consolidate my web presence to something more manageable. I have found it very easy to be scattered about, having more email addresses than I want and my presence diluted across scores of hiding places.

My efforts now are to try to reverse this trend and put it all in one or two places that I can focus on in a meaningful way. So I am focusing this all into my website and into one blog "I have something to say now...", still on eblogger. In doing this I hope I can also focus any of my readers into places more likely to be maintained. If you like my books and want to keep abreast of the lastest, you can also request to be added to the "Friends of Immerland" group on facebook.

The fiction series, Lunch with Herm and Eutychus, which this blog was going to be at some point, are firmly entrenched on my Parable Project page which can be found right here.

If you wish to find out more about my three published books and the work I am doing on the fourth, you can find that right here.

If you have any compliments, complaints, comments, quotes, quips or quibbles, you can find me by going here and writing me an email right here,

If you ever wondered what I think about something and I have taken the time to write it down, you will probably find that right here

While this may seem very overwhelming - think for a moment what it must feel like for me - trying to put it all together :-)

Expansion on a Theme

Ok, so I have been delinquent in getting at this as much as I wanted to. Life have been busy, but in the intervening days, I have pondered the appropriate use and purpose of this. I have decide to expand the purpose beyond Herm and Eutychus, interesting as they are to also include my own thoughts about many things that deserve attention:

One: I have a lot of history, being now almost 55 with many musings and ponderings that I value and think perhaps there are others that may value them also. I have had 30+ years with the church that I attend and I daresay some interesting historical perspectives on its path and current trajectory. I will be adding these as I want as a chronicle of what has transpired from my own perspective. I present no illusion that others will agree with my experience, given that over the years, it has been clearly demonstrated that my perspective is often at odds with the broad cross section of the church and society in general.

Two: I am a teacher and see no reason that I should not post here teachings that I have gathered over the years - ways of thinking, worldviews and such, that I believe are important to write out and allow others to digest also, for whatever they are worth.

Three: I have a responsibility to free thinking and expression - The oppression of the rational open debate, the quelling of challenge to the status quo, the silencing of healthy discussion are all aspects of culture that throttle the advancement of ideas. No doubt there are those who would rather I not open the discussion on vital topics because it challenges their control and their way of thinking, but this is based in fear rather than substance. I have proven over and over my desire for unity but the question is always raised about where unity is breached. Is it in the irresponsible challenge to the status quo or the smug self-protective arrogance of the status quo itself. THAT is the question I intend to explore on occasion here.

This blog is a rambling collection of thoughts, posted through the eyes of two friends, Herm Foley and Eutychus Scrubb, who often get together to talk about things important over lunch. They Like to talk, and they both like to eat. Together they like to explore ideas and use each other to reflect issues that come up in each life's journey. I hope you find this as entertaining to read as I do to write.
